I’m the founder of Vlixir Beverage Company.

I started the company with the mission of creating “Less Evil Alcohol Drinks.” The best ideas very often are the simplest. Recent explosion of red wine consumption owes much credit to the headlines of its health benefits. People drink vodka more than whiskey, rum and tequila put together, I believe, mainly because of its reputation of being more pure, cleaner and having less negative effects. Although there is no getting around the negative effects of consuming alcohol, how it’s made and what we mix it with certainly plays a role in minimizing the negatives. As with cooking, the best recipes start with the best ingredients and that holds true for distillation and mixology as well. I founded the company with the simple idea of ‘making alcohol drinks with only the best ingredients.’

After learning about the industry, and the vodka-making process, I found that most commercial vodka comes from large distillers using continuous distillation, an industrial process that leaves little character except rubbing alcohol aroma and astringent harshness inherent with mass production and carbon filtration. Artisan small-batch distillation is a hands-on sensory process that leaves so much more in terms of gentle smoothness and pleasant aromas. Utilizing the best equipment available today we are able to produce a “pure” and vodka spirit and we don’t have to use filtration or additives. We spent years developing the recipes; we chose each ingredient carefully after searching the entire globe for the best organic grains that went into the vodka mash and organic juices for our soon to be released line of pre-mixed sparkling super-fruit juice vodka cocktails.

I am proud to bring “LIXIR 88 Organic Vodka,” a truly unique and distinctive micro-distilled vodka spirit to the market as my first product offering. And after nearly four years of trial and error, formulating, testing, and re-formulating, I finally have my first two “V LIXIR Bubbletini’s” ready for market in 2011.
